In a wide and varied career Paul has led 50+ successful business acquisitions, disposals, management buy-outs (MBOs), management buy-ins (MBIs), and restructurings.
Paul is a serial non-executive director, chairman, business financier and mentor to owner managed businesses and family companies and a writer and speaker on business, finance and value-based leadership.
He has also worked with and chaired several charitable, sporting and not for profit organisations and is a past National President of the National Association of the Round Tables (Great Britain & Ireland)
During his career, he developed an interest in values-based leadership and a belief that developing teams is the key to successful business.
He founded and was Senior Partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants’s and a Corporate Finance boutique but has also spent time in industry, as the CFO and Group Finance Director of an award-winning multi-site FCMG manufacturing business. His work in orchestrating a management buyout and the subsequent growth in this business was recognised by Barclays Corporate who nominated him as FD of the year, where he was a finalist, and by the award of Business of the Year to the company by the Manchester Evening News Business section.
He is media trained and has credits with Today R4, Victoria Derbyshire Radio 5 Live, Budget Special Radio 5 Live and GMR, BBC 24-hour news, together with specialist news, trade and industry publications.
He has written and presented courses on financial management, business finance, forensic accountancy and financial investigations and was for many years a visiting lecturer on the National Police Fraud and Economic Crime Investigation course.
